Hello Everyone!
Today was Day 7 for my sixteen Cornish Rock broiler eggs. This is my first time incubating with a new Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance. The eggs were shipped to me and I put them in the incubator right away instead of waiting because they seemed to be hotter than room temperature...
Okay, this question defeats the entire point of do-it-yourself, but..
Do you sell your coolerbators? LOL What would you charge?
Loving them, you did an amazing job on this one!!

Have you considered Bielefelders?
They are auto-sexing so you'd be able to tell exactly which ones are the pullets by their colors / patterns as soon as they hatch.
From what I've read about them they seem to be very sweet, calm, gentle, etc. They are nice and big (sort of like Brahmas)...
I can't say enough about Wyandottes. I ordered BLRWs from McMurray hatchery about six years ago and they were the sweetest, calmest, prettiest birds! I ordered many other breeds including the "rare assortment" - the Wyandottes were my absolute favorites. I sold many of them at the Sussex County...
I understand lol
I was just wondering what breeds of roos you had them in with at the moment.
My hudband and I agreed that we'll wait patiently for the three weeks for the fatty fatties to be bred to the fatty fatty roo. :)
Looking forward to it!
Thanks,
Jenne
I happened upon this breed by accident. The more I learn, the more fascinated I become!
I am curious to know what personality you would get by breeding a Basque with a flighty breed such as the Egyptian Fayoumi. Would the chicks be friendly or flighty? How strong is the 'boldness' factor when...
Thanks!
If you were to separate and start collecting eggs from the fatty fatty girls right now, what would be the possible combinations, rooster-wise? If you sent me a dozen (or however many fit in one shipping box) maybe I could pay for both now and have two hatches. That would work out nicely...
Oh that would be great! For some reason I've found it to be next to the impossible to find anyone or anywhere that has what I'm looking for. Strange because I remember how people had eggs coming out of their ears four years ago when I was on BYC all the time. lol
I don't really want to hatch...
Thanks! It's not close (we're close to Rutgers University), but that sounds like a great place to take the kids next week.
I think taking him to see hatching baby chicks will make him even more eager for chicks. This morning he jumped into my bed and asked me, "Ummm, can we get some eggs for...
Thanks for summarizing your experiences with your crosses!
I would definitely be interested in hatching your F2 Cornish descendants.
Would you be able to ship them?
Thanks!

Central NJ Over Here!!!
Hello All, I am excited to see so many fellow Jersey chicken lovers.
I was born and raised here in NJ. Chickens were on my Christmas list to Santa every year when I was little. I finally got my first bantam Cochin hens at a fair when I was about 13 years old. Those...
In a nutshell, I am hoping to find someone who has eggs from Jumbo Cornish Rock hens and some large meaty breed rooster that they wouldn't mind sending me to hatch out.
My husband and I just ordered a Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance and we are bursting with excitement. Okay, mostly I am. When it...
