Absolutely beautiful! Do you have a different area for them at night or are they always in here? I ask because I have 2 pekin and a swedish blue and a kiddie pool....the mess from their poo gets all over my yard and they get water everywhere which turns to mud. I'm trying to figure out how to...
I purchased a 2 year old blue laced at a poultry show last weekend and she is settling in nicely (only have 3 LF - now 2 hens and a rooster - my other hen is only 6 months old) - should the 2 year old start laying soon or is this a breed that stops for the winter? I was thinking she may also...
I am new to chickens in general, and I have large fowel as well, but I am so willing to eat tiny eggs forever b/c they are just the sweetest birds ever!
You think so? I am new to the whole chicken thing, but I thought she needed more curve to her backside. She's skiddish, so I'm trying to get her close enough to handle like my others.
I just purchased a pair of Old English Wheaten bantams ... fantastic! The rooster is like a parrot, sits on your shoulder and loves to be pat and the hen is very docile and they both are beautiful.
I went to the Winston-Salem poultry show this past weekend. I came home with a LF blue laced wyandotte hen, a pair of bantam Old English Wheatens & a pig!!!!
I didn't get the second private message if you sent one, I was there. I picked up a blue laced wyandotte and a pair of bantam old english wheatens....and a pig!
I purchased my first blue laced wyandotte this weekend at a poultry show. She is a 2 year old hen, I've had a really hard time finding a breeder that has any younger. Slim pickings in this area for this variety! (I know she is not the best quality, but she's what I could find-my white wyandottes...
I am a new owner of the bantam Old English Wheaten chickens. I have to say, they are so fun! Friendly, energetic, striking color and tail plumage. I know that it will take 2 eggs to equal a LF egg. I can't find any threads about the breed and this specific "type" so I thought I would start one...
I'm interested in the silkies, and maybe the easter eggers. We are building a flock for eggs and want friendly chickens, and we have heard silkies are very docile and friendly. Will you be in the tailgate section, and around what time?
