I will gladly put them back, I do not like hatching any bird personally. It has been 3 days that she has not been around. There are no new eggs only 6 in her nest.
Morning, my husband is a logger and he has been watching a Turkey nest the hen is gone, not sure if a hunter got her. He brought home the eggs and I put them in the incubator. How can I tell how far along the chicks are, so I can remove them from the Turner in time?
My chickens do not have electricity but I could run a cord to them. I will have to look up leasing and see what it is. I have not ever had any reason to train a dog.
She is actually supposed to be my husband's dog, he wanted a big dog.... I really don't need anything to guard the chickens, except from her.
She thinks the chickens are her personal toys. Now my flick is dwindling.
Okay we have an Anatolian Shepard (dog bred in Turkey to guard cattle). She is 1 year old and kills my chickens every chance she gets! I know nothing about training dogs, what can I do to keep her from killing my girls?
Not sure if it is my buff or my yellow astrolop. That is that is the only two I have not cought in the act. I will have to go get oyster shell for them and hopefully that will help. I am in western nc.
All of my chickens just started laying around a month ago. The first egg from this hen (with spots like this) was bigger than a jumbo egg and was double yolked.
