devested to find our flock massacred

I've seen raccoons break through all sorts of things they should be able to get through. One ripped the bottom off a weber gas grill. Had the entire thing on video. I imagine the hardware cloth was a heavy guage? Not all are equal. Also, what size welded wire are you using? Just saw your...

    2-Day old chick, lethargic, dehydrated

Thank you. I looked it up just now since things have calmed down. Stress and temperature -- which makes sense here. This was a weird hatch. The girls went broody and we left them with their eggs. The chicks have been hatching for several days now. The oldest is now 7-days. We had six hatch...

    2-Day old chick, lethargic, dehydrated

@Cheekychook12 @Eggcessive Thank you both for your help. She didn't make it. :( For future issues, what could I have done differently?

    2-Day old chick, lethargic, dehydrated

I just did that. What would cause that in a chick? Electrolytes, what works best? Should I stick with oral or inject saline, its sterile.

    2-Day old chick, lethargic, dehydrated

Dried poop stuck to her butt. Very dry. I added 2nd thermometer in case the main one went bad. Reading 90 far corner. 95 center. Thank you.

    2-Day old chick, lethargic, dehydrated

Orally, nutridrench with a syringe, no needle, by do which she seems to be drinking. Saline subq in the leg. Temp is good. There are cooler and warmer spots for the chicks. She with 2 others, no issues. Substrate is paper towels as they're so young.

    2-Day old chick, lethargic, dehydrated

No walking. She's pretty limp. She can hold up her head if I hold her. Her eyes are shut and look dry.

    2-Day old chick, lethargic, dehydrated

I have a 2-day old bantam pth that took a quick downturn. We gave her nutridrench by mouth (drop at a time) and administered 1ml of saline sub-q. She was great yesterday, and this morning. She seems to be gasping a bit. I'm not sure she was before the oral fluid. Maybe she aspirated some. What...

No longer urgent. She died. But what was this?

She didn't make it ☹️ If anyone can offer input, please do. Was this vent prolapse?

No longer urgent. She died. But what was this?

It looks like she has some sort of sores on her skin as well. It is visible in photo 2.

No longer urgent. She died. But what was this?

My 4yo orpi was squatting on the ground. I picked her up and she weighs a lot less than a few days ago. She is very lethargic. I found her butt encrusted with something that does not look like poop, but I guess it could be. I cleaned her up but not sure what to do next. I fed her water...

    Are chicken collars good?

I was mortified at the thought of collaring a rooster. I was wrong. They do fine, as long as it's on correctly. I have one roo that had been collared for 5 years. He's awesome. When your choice is a collar or the pot, the collar is an easy choice.

    Are chicken collars good?

Don't worry about your hens. Your neighbors need to chill out and close their windown, or move. They sound like problematic neighbors. Nothing you do will suffice. If you're not breaking any rules, forget about them.
