Unfortunately my chicken coop is located in a run so rat avoidance inside is unavoidable. I just hate them eating the food.

I recently put my grandpa feeder back with the chickens because the rats are too smart. I have used any trick and trap for them and the rats are out day and night. And about an hour ago I looked at my chicken coop and 2 rats jump on the treadle while the 3rd take the food.

can I ask where did you get the plastic for the ramp? I'm looking at things I could use nothing jumps out at me.

I used a weight on mine also but unfortunately the other day when I put the video on at night I noticed the rats knew how to open the feeder. The weight made it light enough for the rats to open! Like I said I'm only in day 2. the 2 older chickens are eating out of the feeder, and at 4pm they have the run of the yard so they are eating out there.

If I did this at training level I would have to stay there and shoo the rats away. They come morning and night. I have a camera so I see them everywhere. They don't even care when I'm there. They think its feeding time for them too.

yea thats why I cannot do this. I have a camera on this so I can see if anyone is learning this, and the rats are having a ball hanging on the treadle. they know the food is in there yet they cannot get it. The birds are so used to seeing them its like family. Yuk.

I have (4) chicks that I hatched and I need to find a good home. Born from 4/20 - 4/24. Mom is a Brahma. Dad is an Ayam Cemani. The chicks are all black, looks like they are getting a little lighter around the chest/butt area. Asking $20 obo. Just trying to cover the feed. Located in New Egypt.
