    Myers Mini White Turkey Poults?

Thanks for the observation. I called Myers and they confirmed their mini version is not the same as the midget.

Do you know of any other vendors besides myers? Everyone else I've checked is sold out.

Anyone have experience with these, in terms of health and hardiness, fertility, meat flavor?/

    Males fighting again

I'd prefer the largest not the mist aggressive if possible. I'd have to weigh them to be sure.

    Males fighting again

Hi, a bevy of 11 quails just turned 8 weeks old. I found two males injured, like almost killed. Moved them to another cage. Which male/s should be kept for breeding and which for eating?

    Observation on egg sales economics

I can't say about specific customers, but this grocer said that while Giant Eagle's sales are down 30%, his sales are steady, largely due to his value meat selection. So I'd guess these customers are buying both meat and eggs. I just got some pekin ducks, looking forward to their xxl duck eggs.

    Observation on egg sales economics

Yesterday I dropped off eggs at the local grocery store. This includes 'mixed sized eggs', or large through jumbo, and a few dozen 'medium' sized eggs, from the pullets or smaller layers, that I sell for 35% off. The grocer said he wants more of these medium sized eggs, as customers do buy them...

    Lost another goat today

It wasn't smart of me to tie up the goat on a looped leash. She died due to my carelessness. I'm just not sure if it's normal to lose so many animals at once.

    Lost another goat today

Thanks for all your responses. I think I'm still in shock. I saw her stumble before I headed out, and had a bad feeling the whole time I was out, but still didn't rush home. I guess I'm not ready to give them up, or give up on them. I do live in a wet, cold climate, which is not ideal for...

    Lost another goat today

Hi, I just lost the 4th female goat in two months from my herd of now 10 dairy goats. Her kid was getting out of their stall on a daily basis, it was driving me crazy, I could not afford to reinforce or replace all the lumber so today I didn't try to repair the stall but tied the dam to a...

Anyone selling golden300 ducklings or hens near Cleveland?

I'll buy them from Metzer if necessary but was hoping to save on costs.

my hen is a rooster now?

You can remove the outer keratin sheath of the spur with flat head pliers. There are YouTube videos explaining how. The bony core of the spur will be there. It's a form of grooming her.

my hen is a rooster now?

She doesn't have saddle feathers (those long drapey feathers above the base of the tail). She's a female.

Duckling struggling to hatch; external yolk sac

The water was boiled to remove bacteria and still warm when dipped. I didn't want her to get shrink wrapped in the shell. In the future is it advisable to not touch the egg at all even at days 32/33?

Duckling struggling to hatch; external yolk sac

Hi, unfortunately she did not survive. It's likely my fault for not leaving her alone. In the future, do people leave duck eggs untouched in the incubator for 30, 31, 32 days?
