2024 hatch season has already begun.
So far:

11 Salmon Faverolle

In the incubators now are:
17 Bielefelder Eggs
5 Crevecoeur
17 Salmon Faverolle
5 BYM
All are developing and have 13 more days...
To my surprise, as of yesterday, all three remaining eggs have hatched. One is quite weak but with the turning issue I would notbhave thought any would hatch.
So between the heat of summer, older layers, user error with regards to turning, it looks like 10 chicks are what I am going to get from this go around. Waiting to see what the three replacement eggs do. Not looking great for these though as the problem with the turner happened during a more...
So far, had one hatched yesterday. Five more have hatched today. Four have external pips. Tomorrow is the official hatch date. A quick picture included before I head to bed.
Dry incubated and keeping humidity up in the high 50s/low 60s. Anything lower seems to be too dry for them.
Well, it isn't looking good for these eggs. Forgot to reset the incubator countdown and it stopped turning them sometime between the 8th and the 15th when I caught it. Not great. I have 11 eggs of the original 22 in lockdown with internal pips (or close to it), and one with an external. There...

replaced with 3 more fresh eggs.
Removed 3 early quitters from the first 22. Down to 19 eggs - 16 original set and 3 late additions.
My first batch of mixes this year. Appleyards, Harlequins, Cayugas, Campbells, Rouens and Golden Cascade potential parents. Three drakes and three hens in this batch. Got more growing out.
