Very nicely done! As others have said, I wouldn't worry about keeping the temperature at 50 degrees inside the coop. You want your girls to be able to go outside without experiencing the shock of a massive drop in temperature. They will acclimate to the cold. Just add ventilation that will...

I think he's beautiful, too, and he has a wonderful personality; He's very respectful of people but not afraid, and he's good with his girls. I'm actually very happy with the lot of them and would love to buy more from you. :0)

Thank you! I'm a newbie when it comes to Ameraucanas too. I think this lot is lovely, too, but I don't know how to properly assess them as Ameraucanas. I'm reading, watching, learning. :0)
They look good. Tail might be a bit high on the roo, but he looks hearty and healthy. As long...
He came from a hatchery (I don't know which one) as part of an order of Ameraucanas. We know he's not an Ameraucana but I'm thinking he's a mutt of the EE variety.

My chickens are all clipped as well. We did it during daytime this past summer and it was a chore but we managed. I like the idea of headlamps. I'll have to run out to Home Depot and grab a couple; that will help with night time dusting! Thank you!

Thank you for the break down and the precise explanation of how you dust the birds. It sounds manageable. I typically dust my smaller flocks during the day and it's a chore but we can get it done in about an hour and I can tell who's been dusted b/c I know each bird by sight/name...
