    HELP- Sick Chicken

She has no funk or bubbles coming from the eye. She may have been grabbed by the rooster when mounting but we don’t know. Inside the ear canal with a qtip?? Will have to see. We have given her two doses of LA200 and plenty of vitamins and minerals with apple sauce. Also Neosporin on the ears and...

    HELP- Sick Chicken

Hi all… Wondering if you have ever seen anything like this before as we have not having raised chickens for over 10 years- Chicken seems to have a swollen right ear lobe. Staph Infecrion

She lays eggs but on the floor of the coop as she doesn’t typically roost on poles anymore. She is definitely not egg bound as her vent is clear of egg and mites. We regularly use diatenatious (sp?) Earth on all of our flock. They receive vinegar in their water changed out daily. It’s a very...

    Staph Infecrion

Thank you for this information. Whelp, maybe that is not what it is then… the lesions were lumps on the top of the feet and the upper leg? Kind of like warts grown on top of each other?? Any ideas?

    Staph Infecrion

Help is needed in understanding Staph in chickens- we have a 1.5 year old hen that grew bumps on her feet. She had a hard time walking for months. When we asked our farm vet, she said it was staph. Although the bumps are no longer there, she continues to have a hard time functioning both...

How do you clean the feeders and waterers?

One part Vinegar to two parts water will not effect your metal bowls when cleaning them. Just make sure to rinse them out after clean and wipe down well. Vinegar of any kind is only toxic to birds if kept in a metal bowl soaking over a period of time - Hope this helps
