have not purchased yet but am looking to add 4 8-week old pullets to existing flock, 8 existing hens ranging in age from 3 years to 6 mos. Trying to figure out if i need to set up a temp coop situation until they get a bit older. Coop is 6'x 8' and run is 8' x20'
live in NH - chicken run has clear plastic panels on roof of run (those stay) but i covered the outside of the run with plastic? I am hoping no more snow for the season but when does everyone that covers their run, remove the covering?
I also have the ADOR1 door and highly recommed it. runs on a 6V lantern battery. i've had my door 2 years with no problems and have changed the battery once

disclaimer - i have no interest in this - saw it on tv today
For those of you that have nesting boxes attached to the outside of your coop, not inside. where is the door opening? Do you open the top of the nest boxes - what is essentially the roof? Or is the roof fixed and you access the boxes from the side, like a door opening?
Mcmurray bonus chick. 14 weeks old, Any idea of what breed and if a hen or rooster? She is the most outgoing, and also pushy. She will eat out of your hand. But also roosts separately from the other pullets.
Thanks on advance for any help!
