    perimeter of property fencing

If you don't need predator proof fencing, 150 ft x 60 inch chicken wire 2 inch mesh is $89 a roll in tractor supply, you can fence in an area of 25'x50' with one roll, or 75'x75' with two rolls to contain the chickens!

    Run Ideas/Free Ranging

You have a lovely yard for your chooks to roam around! You can easily use T-posts and deer net to fence in an area, extended beyond your current run, and cover with aviary net to provide for roaming space during the day. You can even design a second lot to alternate between two areas to allow...

    Frozen pine shavings?

So sorry that your pine shavings bag came in wet. I'd just buy another bag and make sure it's a dry bag. Leave the wet bag to dry out in warmer weather. (I'd imagine you'll need to spread out the shavings to dry them out.)

Unless you buy the big metal tub like the size they came in at Tractor Supplies, but then you are stuck with the tub! We attached...

Another "our chickens are boycotting the coop" thread

The dimension is essentially 3 x 4 for 6 chickens, not enough space 6 grown up chickens, and if you have any bullies in the coop, it may explain the behavior. We have plenty of space for our flock, when we adopted one 8-year old hen from our friend to integrate with our flock of 10 (1-4 year...

Are there any durable affordable runs online?

For uncovered run, We use t-post driver and t-posts + fencing material of your choice, to an our extended run. Very easy and economical, easy to reconfigure as well. We also use aviary netting to keep the hawks out. And use hardware cloth as apron all around the fence.
