if there is slate in there it has to be way back there. since i am friends with the breeder (of the older tom and hen) and she is VERY truthfully to a fault.
Yes, I am in SC. A Friend of mine is the breeder of both the sire and dam. she says they came out of Bourbon Red (type).
the younger tom does have a few (looks to be) black tips and one feather. the old tom wings are are both light slate with longer white flight feathers. no black spots can be...
yes, I thought that too but If you look closely at the rusty slate, they don't have a cream/white tips and the slated sweet grass doesn't have the striping in the feathers. that is why I came here. I am stumped
my friend is the breeder of the parents and their parents and theirs for 3 gens. the raised and sold them for thanksgiving. bourbon reds all back there.
lol same here lol that is why i am asking. I can't seem to find any that fit. do I have a new unnamed color/pattern? I doubt but... it would be nice to name it, if it doen't have a name. Hubby likes Old Glory, since they are red white and blue.
My understanding is that a slate doesn't have clear white on the tail. The dad came out of two "bourbon reds" as did the mother of the young tom. they may in fact be hatch mates.
I know a Turkey lol.
His mom is the same color as he is blue/reddish with tiny strips and his dad is blue and white. all four grandparents were
