Updated pic of these two - time will tell - just figured I’d share incase someone is wanting to see the development.
One is a buff Brahma the other is an EE/mystery mix (back yard egg + broody hen+push over human!)
Born 4/14/2025 (I’m not sure it’s an Ameraucana…looks Easter Egger but I don’t really know the differences)
Do you see saddle feathers?
Opinions on gender welcome.
Regarding these two buff Brahma chicks? Male or Female??? and why do you think it? (I have my thoughts but want to hear your opinions)
***(the chick on the far right is a back yard mixed hatch feel free to give opinions there if you want but mostly curious on the brahmas)

He’s gone and not breeding any of my girls. A neighbor took him and did a few dominance things to him like pin him down and hold him for a long time etc….he said if he can’t create a calm gentle roo out of him he will be soup.
He used to be a gentle great rooster but I think having him...
Sad to say but wanted to update those following - Pauly’s prolapsed didn’t pop back in and kept falling out after various efforts and the other chickens started pecking at it - causing significant bleeding - my brother was visiting and he helped me put Polly down - s/he has gone over the rainbow...
I have this Easter Egger Rooster (around 4 months old) - who is on the chopping block for Thursday, (he’s getting more aggressive) but he’s pretty and I can’t find anyone who wants to rehome him because he’s not very nice.
What could I breed him with and create what colored chicks?
I might...
I am thinking of adding to my flock (rooster & hens)
I have a bunch of blue & lavender hens - interestingly I’ve given some fertile eggs to friends with broody hens and their chicks seem to be a mix but getting black chicks is common so far.
Suggestions why? Is there a list somewhere that...
Update - Pauly’s vent will pop out (as in prolapsed) and suck back in (on its own) now and then.
His bum is typically poopy.
Not blocking future poops, just stuck in bum feathers beneath.
I’ve had to bathe on occasion, because it gets messy, which is fine.
What might help things get better...
Does the ratcheting feature take a long time? Or snap thru quickly?
I’m thinking this might be a decent option, because at the moment I’m doing the jugluar bleed out and it does take a while.
I tried a tree lopper but it didn’t cut thru the bone quick enough for my likely. I still had to use a...
Just playing around with my own flock for myself (not showing or selling…if anything might make chicks for a friend that wants chickens)
These are my two roosters at the moment.
Both are Easter Eggers. (I don’t like the comb on the black one, it’s huge and floppy..deformed imho)
I’ve been...
Will EE Roos ALWAYS have brown on the wings somewhere???
If yes, around what age does it surface?
Would make life so much easier if these darn chickens were pullets!!!
Because I think this darn golden laced Wyandotte might be a rooster too.
Someone needs to get fired at the hatchery…this...
Might ask this elsewhere, but will see how many replies I get here on this question first.
I have 3 hutch/run set ups within a larger fenced area.
One flock is used to roaming the bigger area often.
The other flocks are young (from this past late winter/spring season)
Each flock has a...
Mating isn’t a priority for “Pauly”
Ideally I have two roosters (which I already have) I can have up to three before I need to start culling. If there are two roosters in Pauly’s flock then one will need to go unless they can co-exist peacefully due to Pauly’s handicaps.
Right now I think one...
