    Chick won’t put leg down

Hello all, I posted earlier this week about a chick not wanting to move about which I believed was caused by some lesions I found on her feet. As of yesterday though, she won’t put her right leg down. I read lots of articles and they all seemed to suggest a slipped tendon, but it’s in the same...

Lesions on week old chick’s feet

Yes, four others that are fine and active. Bedding is dry shavings in a thin layer. No wet spots that I could see.

Lesions on week old chick’s feet

Hello! I have a roughly 1.5 week old chick that presented this morning being able but mostly unwilling to walk. I found lesions on her feet that I haven’t seen before, but I’m wondering if she might have gotten into fire ants since I saw some in her section of the coop despite my DE application...

Apple Cider vinegar for algae control for horse troughs and how much?

The fish in the trough idea works great... IF your trough isn't in the sun. One of my friends wasn't thinking and threw a bag of goldfish in the trough, but it had no shade. Summer heat and full sun meant dead fish and horses that wanted nothing to do with their water. I add two cap-fulls of...

    Any horseback riders here?

I'm looking for some fellow horse friends! Tell me all about yourself and your ponies. What do you do with them? To get started... I have 3 horses. Dakota, Mia, and Cowboy. They all do several things, but each has their favorite discipline. Dakota, an 18 year old paint horse, worked cows...

    Who here is into Photography?

Does anyone know of any good photography classes online? I'd love to learn more. I had hoped to take some in college but they required an art pre-req and there was no way to fit that into my engineering schedule.

English or Western riding, which is harder?

As a rider of both disciplines, I find that they are equally difficult in different ways. But this is an age-old discussion... english vs. western.

    Let the smiting continue? :D

I'm good! It's been a long time. I think 3 or 4 years. I was just thinking about all of my BYC friends and said, "Heck, I've still got chickens. I wonder if they do?" and hopped back on. How have you been?

    Who here is into Photography?

That is definitely a drawback. I wouldn't take any of my photos off my phone and try to put them on canvas or blow them up. Still need my DSLR for stuff like that.

    Crochet "Chat"

Almost as good for the garden as chicken "tea!" This is a fly bonnet. They keep flies off of horses' ears while riding. A lot of people sell them and upgraded (embroidered with monograms, or crochet borders added) saddle pads and do pretty well.

    ALABAMA!!

Hi Alabama peeps! I'm a transplant from TX but I've been living here three years since I'm currently a senior at the University of Alabama. I brought my horse with me to school and I take him them all over the state to show and trail ride. I meet the coolest people that way. Last month, before...

    Crochet "Chat"

I crocheted this afghan my freshman year of college with my school colors. It got a little bigger than I planned on... It completely covers my bed and then some. It sure is warm though. And a scarf I made out of the excess red. Definitely a novice crocheter. Haha! Have you figured out my...

    moonshiners here?

Well... Not the traditional kind! Last month I distilled 400 gallons of 92 wt. percent ethanol. But I'm a chemical engineering major... haha! I still appreciate the other kind. My friend made me some apple pie moonshine and it was so smooth. I'll have to ask if the above was her recipe.
