    Putting different aged chicks together...

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread. I'm getting a new batch of chicks in a week here and so we will have 1 year olds, 13 week olds, and new babies. AHHHH! Poor planning on my part (couldn't resist the chicks at Chick Days). Could be a difficult transition.

Integrating 12 week old pullets - NOT going well!

My newbies are 2 Buff Orpingtons, 1 Barred Rock, and 1 Americana. They are 12.5 weeks old. I built a little baby...

One Hen just does not lay! Help?

Hi guys! I am pretty new here (to posting, not lurking, ha!), thanks in advance for the help! So, in April I bought 8 chicks - 5 red star, 3 black star. They are all awesome and healthy, each one of them is laying an egg a day, every day (even with the decreasing light - I live in Montana) -...

Hi there, This is my first post! Thanks for reading! So, my chickens are just starting to lay. I have 8 hens, 5 red star, 3 black star. 1 red star is laying, the rest are being freeloaders still (unless this eggs belongs to one of the other hens). Only one other hen looks ready to start...
