Hi there! Sorry for the delay haven't checked this forum in a while. She is doing much better, still at the bottom of the pecking order in our mixed flock but growing and acting normally for several months now. :)
I have a 20 week old spitzhauben rooster and a 20 week old Owlbeard. They have 13 hens, 4 of which are older. We had 3 other roosters we recently culled, those 3 were crowing frequently. The 2 remaining I have not yet heard crow. Will this change?

we are first year chicken owners and will be culling and eating the extra cockerels.
it is important to us that our children know where food comes from, but we don’t want to do something they may not be ready for by allowing them to participate in the process.
