I use PDZ and sand in my 2 of my perment coops. No smells, no sickness, less food on the ground. My 3 tractors need twice as much clean-up manintance as either of the other two. Just bought land, no more tractors-coops with sand for my. Dry stall(??) we use also mixed with the play sand & PDZ
