So I have a blue Cochin pullet whose tail used to be really fluffy and I’m just wondering if there is anyways to make her feathers look fluffier. I just feel like they look very wilted, is there anything I can do to fix that? Thank you
Thank for sending, she does look quite similar to Terri! This is a picture for reference (this was a couple months ago so her comb wasnt fully developed yet, but this is a good pic of her standing upright)
Hey everyone I am looking into showing some chickens and someone told me that my blue Cochin, Terriyaki, has great confirmation. Does anyone have any pictures of winning/champion Cochins and/or photos of what a great Cochin (preferably full sized) would look like. I have read the standard of...
Her breastbone looks and feels normal and I have seen her eating everyday, and now I have her separated with my 9 3 week old chicks and so she can eat and drink as much as she wants. The only other things I could think of is maybe dehydration (which I have electrolytes in the chicks’ water) or...
Nope for the entirety of her life she has been growing at the same rate as the others and is around the middle of the pecking order in her group. All the chicks have been Intergrated for quite a few weeks but the run has plenty of space and there is enough food and everything else for them.
We live in the bitterroot Valley, Montana. The weather has 70-80’s in the day and around mid 40’s at night. I have raised her since she was a chick. Her diet is mostly Eden feeds along with kitchen scraps which are only vegetable peelings and stuff, I google anything I feed to them so all the...
So I have this 10 week old columbian Wyandotte pullet who has been laying down and acting lethargic. I noticed that the other chicks were being kinda mean to her. She seems slightly unbalanced and I have her seperated from the flock with my 9 bielefelder chicks (3 weeks old) and I have now seen...
Is there any way to make them go under the plate they have used it their whole life so idk why they aren’t now. And ik that’s it warm so that’s not the problem
So I have a group of nine bielefelder chicks that have been huddling at night instead of sleeping under their brooder plate. The plate is on and hot and they have been outside since I got them (in a trough) but I just now letting them out into the open and the little pen I have. Throughout the...
So unfortunately she has passed, but all the other chicks seem fine and everybody is alert and doing their cycles of eating, drinking, and sleeping. Currently my guess is possibly something internally happened like she wasn’t developed correctly.
