    Bumblefoot epidemic

I couldn’t get much out of the one I did treat- it seemed like it was mostly just the scab itself and the collection beneath it. Hers was pinkish. The others aren’t though… just seem calloused.

    Bumblefoot epidemic

I am writing you at the end of a very frustrating evening. I happened to notice my white leg horn looks like her foot was a bit swollen. I picked her up and looked at her, and it looked like pretty classic bumble foot. I soaked her, made an incision, pulled out the plug, flushed it with Betadine...

    Wart on beak?

Nothings really changed- not bigger or smaller or redder. Still leave it or do you think it needs drained?

    Wart on beak?

She’s been free ranging lots so it’s anyone’s guess. If you think I should leave it then I will! She doesn’t seem bothered at all.

    Wart on beak?

Hello! I have seen other birds posted with this exact issue before but haven’t seen any kind of follow up from the OP’s. Any idea what this growth is on my splash Marans beak? It doesn’t bother her… it’s very hard but has a “plug” on it like a scab. I want to say a little abscess? But before I...

Baby chick with foot injury- help!

My first time incubating chicks was this weekend, and when I went to move them to the brooder, I noticed one of them had a pretty severe injury to one of its toes. I think the claw is lost, but I don’t know the extent that the toe itself is hurt. I disinfected and wiped the blood away that I...

Picked on pullet with bloody and swollen ear lobes

It is an antibiotic injectable. We got ours at tractor supply… I know they are phasing out over-the-counter injectable antibiotics for animals, but if you are lucky enough to find some old stock, they will still sell it to you.

Picked on pullet with bloody and swollen ear lobes

I treated with Tylan and she was back to normal within 7-10 days! Thinking it was respiratory, and then she might’ve gotten picked on.

    Medicated feed question

Okay thank you! I still have a couple bags I need to use up but I plan on doing an all flock blend once they’re through. Medicated was just force of habit.

    Medicated feed question

I was discussing with somebody in a different chicken group about an issue I was having with one of my chickens that I believe to be due to molting… long story short, I have seven adult hens, who will be two in April. They were fed medicated chick starter until they were of laying age, and they...

Picked on pullet with bloody and swollen ear lobes

I immediately thought abscess as well but the more I looked it looks like her other ear is a little swollen as well? I just ordered some Tylan 50. I’m very nervous to drain something like this but the other alternative is an outrageous vet bill come next week.

Picked on pullet with bloody and swollen ear lobes

Hello all, I will try to give you all of the information. I have a flock of 30, with 10 of them being in the seven month or so age group. I noticed a couple days ago that one of them was mounting and pecking another, and I removed her yesterday. This morning when I woke up to feed everybody, I...

    Speckled sussex- pullet or roo?

You think so? At ten weeks? My other pullets are the same size.

    Speckled sussex- pullet or roo?

This is a speckled sussex we got from Meyer hatchery 10 weeks ago. I’ve had no indication she was a boy (we ordered a pullet) but those feathers look a little pointy in the close up pics. Her comb and wattles are the same size as her sisters though. Thoughts?

Four week old EE- could this still be a lady?

Sorry, that should have said “crowing” at five weeks!
