hey guys! The chickens and i are doing great- we’ve got the chickens semi-free range and the girls are happier than ever. Now that it’s spring, we’ve got more eggs than we know what to do with, which means we’ve been making a whole lotta flan and scones. Thanks for inviting us to check in! <3

hopefully the last update: Both chicks have healed! we managed to get through it with no infection or anything. Right now, we're working on reintegrating them back in to the flock :]

Yep! Neither seem to be showing signs of infection, and both have healed pretty well since the attack. I have faith!

they're doing well! i have them housed together away from the other chicks and neither of them are pecking each other. they have a good appetite and are very active and vocal :]

i cleaned the wounds with water and a wet cloth, some of the threads i read before posting said harsher cleaners could do more harm than good. I used triple antibiotics w no pain relief on both chicks. heres the wing injury

I have 2 chicks, both hatched around mid october. Recently, they were attacked by a dog. One is missing her right wing, and the bone is exposed. She's eating and drinking, and is very vocal. She's still walking around well. The other has had her tail torn off, which happened just around 5 hours...
