I’ve read that BJG can take up to 2 years to fully grow. His spurs are only 1” after almost a year of growing and this pic of his chest leads me to believe that he still has some bulking up to do. But the feet coloration does throw me off

The pink/yellow feet throw me off as well, but he does seem to still be building frame and his spurs are barely an 1” after a year of growing.

Breed ID help! I recently got my hands on a Black Jersey Giant Roo. Was told from previous owner that he is almost a year old. I’d say in the 8-9 pound range and around 17-20” tall. Forgot to grab a pic of the comb, but looking at it, it’s definitely a rose comb! Definitely a Colombian Wyandotte

There’s not much of a comb to take a picture of, but looking at pictures of Columbian Wyandotte pullets, I definitely see the resemblance. It does seem like there are more black dots on my pullet more than CW pullets, though.

The feathering screams Spitzhauben, but the lack of crest and leg color is not typical of the breed from what I’ve gathered. Maybe just a weak/mixed strain or something of that nature?

This spring I purchased a small amount of chicks from a local Big R. There was no label regarding to what breed they were but they later turned out to be mostly bantam assortments. One of them resembles a rooster. This is him. Helplease on ID?[/IMG]
