Review by '' on item 'Naked Neck-turken'

One of my girls went broody after only laying a couple weeks and hatched out another hen's eggs. Good mother, very patient. Hope she goes broody again!

Stages of fertilised egg development and how long it can be cold

Search for "candling eggs". There's a thread with pics of embryo development. I use it to determine if my eggs are developing into chicks. Good luck!

Breed and Gender please, if possible...pics

These look a lot like my Americaunas as babies, but the legs are yellow, not green. Maybe a bit of everything? Gonna be pretty, though!

Chickens for central Texas hot summers?

Here, here on the dogs! I raised chickens in the dead of summer in Phx AZ a year ago, and didn't loose one. Water and shade was all. Had BO's and they just panted the heat away. I hope I have as good of luck this summer with my larger flock in Waco.

    New Member in Central Texas

Welcome from Waco! I had chickens in my tiny Phoenix backyard before buying 5 acres here, and it was alright. Just make sure you don't have any roosters and give the neighbors lots of free eggs! Best of luck with your permit.
