It's Winter here at the moment so I'm making a point of giving my chickens a little extra fat. It's often the case that I don't use a whole tin of coconut cream so the rest goes in the chook bucket and I can tell you that my girls love it! And despite having frosty mornings they're all still...
Well we're down to 11 hours of daylight per day and my girls are still laying, some every day. I even had two young pullets start laying in the last couple of days. They need plenty of good food in Winter and they'll keep laying 😀
Judging by the wattles alone I'm guessing that I have 2 pullets and 2 cockerels? They're almost 7 weeks old. Oh and that's watermelon juice on some of their feathers. Photos of pullets first. Any thoughts?
Hi, and thankyou 👋
I have my suspicions that there's only 1 pullet in the 4. The one in the photo likely a cockerel 🙄 but if I do have a hen to keep I don't mind giving it a haircut 😁 my girls are a wee bit spoilt. My chicken run is quite big and fully enclosed so that's not a worry. Thanks 👍
This is one of my 5/6 week old Polish chickens I'm hoping is a pullet? I have 4 altogether but no idea if pullets or cockerels 🤷 Any tips for this age?
