These are my 2 Brahmas, Shawn and Juliet! They are both 6 weeks old, and I think that Juliet is a girl and Shawn is a boy. Im never too sure about genders though, which is why I came here. Does anybody know what gender these are?
Today I put her outside for the whole day, locked her out of the nesting box area, and she did great. She didnt find any other hidden egg spots to sit on, and now Im keeping her in a broody jail in a safe space in the coop at night, and its going well so far. Thanks for the help!
Hey, sorry to bug you again, but do you think it would hurt to lock her out of the coop during the day and keep her in jail at night? I want to try that but I dont know if that will work out or not.
From what I have heard, the longer they are broody, the longer it takes to break it. I really dont want to torture my sweet baby, but if I thats what needs to be done, I guess I do. Thanks for the help!
About 28 days ago my young hen Loaf (Buff orpington, just under 1yr old) went broody. I've been taking the eggs out from under her every once in a while, but now I feel like that was the wrong thing to do. I dont think hens are usually broody for this long, so I want to try breaking it soon...
She doesnt growl though, she doesnt do anything except puff up and squawk a little occasionally. Either way, how do I get her to stop?
