Geese dumped close to our property

UPDATE: A few days after the geese were dumped, I met a lady who owns a wildlife refuge ranch about an hour from us. Her ranch hand came the next day and got the geese. He was so excited. They have a pond and he was already planning a big playground and safe enclosure for them. Happy Ending!

Geese dumped close to our property

Oh my! My little 3-legged rescue dog might not have a chance.

Geese dumped close to our property

Thank you so much for your quick reply and advice. We are seriously considering keeping them and are looking into a good place to provide shelter at night. I do have a concern about how the geese would interact with my dog. He is a Jack Russell but does not act like one at all. He's a rescue...

Geese dumped close to our property

These two geese were dumped last night just across from our property. The little bridge they are on leads to our property and fortunately they found the water rather than go the other direction towards the street. I have taken them some food to them and I feel so sorry for them. I know...

Chicken wobbly and has odd behaviour

Her crop does not feel swollen. She is drinking water this morning. Our vet does not work on chickens. Any suggestions on what I should do for her? Thank you so much.

Chicken wobbly and has odd behaviour

She is 3 1/2yo and she does not appear to be molting. I don't know what her poops look like as I have not seen her poop. I will get out there early tomorrow morning and feel her crop. Thank you for the response.

Chicken wobbly and has odd behaviour

One of my chickens has been keeping her wings down all of the time. I thought she was doing it to protect herself from being pecked but I'm not so sure anymore. I've only witnessed the other chickens occasionally pecking at her and she does have a spot on her back where she has no feathers...

    Heat and Eggs

I live in Texas and it is 100+ degrees every day right now. I gather eggs around 5:30 and sometimes the eggs are fairly hot. My chickens mostly lay in a nesting spot and in their nesting box. Their nesting spot is inside the coop and it has several windows and a door which provides...

    Egg Aprons

My Grandbaby finally got old enough to wear her apron and gather eggs. She loves it! She will go get her apron and bring it to me when she's ready to get eggs. We have even had to go put some in the nesting box when she wanted to gather but we knew there weren't any to gather. Love the egg...

    Dead Chicken

Thank you. There were no apparent wounds, just a few small spots of dried blood (as if maybe some of the others had pecked on her at some point). Their coop is very predator proof, especially at night.

    Dead Chicken

I discovered one of my chicken's dead this evening. She is one that was the most dominant. Her neck was floppy (broken neck?) and she had a few dried blood spots on her but no apparant wounds. She was laying under a roost so we wonder if she jumped up and hit the roost and it somehow broke...

    Broody Hen...again.

I've been going out to the coop every few hours today and as soon as I go inside she gets up and goes outside. I just put a stump in the corner which is where some of the hens lay their eggs and where my broody hen lays. I'm really hoping I don't have to use the cage. She's not nearly as...
