It was. I'm not sure why they did that. They climbed in through the feeder ports in the bottom and got stuck in the plastic jar and just kept going in. The porta were elbow shaped so I'm not sure how in the world they even did it but they definitely did.
What does it matter if a post is old? If it's relevant then we rather topics and questions be grouped together in one thread instead starting a new one 🤷
I only ask bc I research the archives a lot And sometimes have questions relevant to old posts and the content within them. 😊 Maybe you are...
Not to argue...but really how is either situation any less annoying? You up at 4 a.m with the roosters or the neighbors at 8pm doing lawn work 🤷 From my perspective broth situations could be disturbing someone relaxing/sleeping so how is it any different?
Btw- I'm genuinely asking for...
Honestly, bc of the context of the thread - to me it read like this was an actual post you had posted screenshots of over here 🤣 Which had me reeling bc I was like, "OMG, why on earth did they leave them so long in the brooders and I couldn't tell if the poor chick stuck in the feeder was dead...
Do they separate their milking does from their bucks? Or are they all ran together? And what breed? It actually makes a difference. I have a production dairy goat herd which is why I know
***First I realize this is an older post. But wanted to add to the conversation for future reference to anyone who reads this*****
Not to mention - there is no such thing as "show quality hatching eggs" 😆.
Even exhibition breeders have culls. Every chick they hatch isn't show quality nor are...
Also- apparently brown eyes are Sex-Linked as well so if you breed a brown eyed male to a none brown eyed female (like silkie roo to bantam Ameraucana) you will get only brown eyed pullets. Apparently brown eyes work similar to how the chocolate gene works with females being able to express it...
Also-
Just so you are aware you can use the silver partridge frizzles in your program. They would turn out more like this once you are done breeding out all the other colors. These are Lavender Silver Ameraucana Bantams. They are not started from extended black though, they are on a silver...
Can you tell comb type on the babies yet?
Good idea on genetics testing that definitely makes for less breeding. But I wasn't sure if the pricing on it was still prohibitive to most.
Fortunately most of the traits were going for are incompletely dominant so they show with only one copy and...
Have you considered taking a male and female from this generation and Breeding them together to try to get some homozygous genes matched up before breeding back to silkie? Just a thought.... Bc if you choose chicks with the most silkie traits, most of them are dominant so a lot of the chicks...
That is what I was thinking and where I was going with the question. Breeding is an art and requires careful attention to details and big picture thinking. Both of which you seem to have down pat! 😊
I always seem to be the one that asks the questions that no one else thinks of though.
What...
