20 week old. Thought it was a Roo but?

Backyard chicken hatched June 6th, got a little red comb really early so planned for it to be a boy but now I’m wondering. 20 weeks, no real prominent rooster feathering that I can see? The all black one is in question, the one with the white neck is a hatch mate that I think is a girl! Thoughts?

Why does my BR hen look so weird?

Chicken genetics are so amazing. She is very pretty. Very wild looking but very pretty

    Hatchery Salmon Faverolles

Thank you for that picture! That really helps. They are just so muddy looking! Nothing like the pictures on the website. They are definitely sweet and curious though.

    Hatchery Salmon Faverolles

I have 4 (supposed to be) pullets from Murray McMurray and one is making me nervous. I ordered a bunch of sexed chicks and 3/15 turned out to be cockerels so far (a CL, Partridge Cochin and Egyptian Fayoumi). Now I’m worried one of my Faverolles is a male. Hoping she’s just has terrible coloring...

Help needed. New chickens not going into new coop at night. Airlifting 36 chickens is exhausting!

Question for the experts, is the ladder into the pop door just too steep? Would that keep them from wanting to get back in? Or is that a non-issue with them not knowing to go in at night. Just my input, it is a pretty coop!!!

    Broody hen switched nestbox

I did and do leave it open so she can move freely. I moved it in when she was already broody, had her sit on fake eggs in there for a few days (she went back the nest boxes at a few times at first but I would just put her back in the hutch box) and once she was established I gave her a clutch of...

    Broody hen switched nestbox

In my very limited experience, a broody has a hard time staying in the same nest box. Either because other chickens think the box they have is the premier space to be or they move to a box that may have a larger clutch. I had a terrible time trying to get eggs to hatch in a nest box. Even my...

'Sweetest' / most human friendly chicken breeds

My Black Sex Links are my most friendly. They are the least interesting to look at but aren’t flighty and are very curious, food motivated, quiet sweet girls.
