Despite everything they go to the road to eat the grit, even though they have some in the coop. I think she got scared and ran into the car as it was on the other side passing. We saw it happen and despite it being a big thud she ran and hid. But she was never floppy or anything, just acted hurt.
About 2-3 weeks ago our beloved Raspberry, a 7mo buff Orpington, was hit by a car. She survived which was a shock to us, with a damaged leg. I don’t think it was broken and could not feel any breaks but it was obviously causing her pain in her hip. She rested in the coop for about a week before...
That is exactly what is confusing me! She is my only GLW and the only one molting in any way right now. None of the other pullets have the long tail feather so I figured I would check. Thank you!
They are about 12-14 weeks I think? I don’t know their exact age when I got them. Thank you for saying they’re cute! They’re funny little ladies for sure. I didn’t think any were boys, but I figured I would check as she is my only GLW and she is the only one looking different in the last week.
Hi, my gl is getting some strange feathers in. She’s still young and it’s fall so feathers are strange right now. It’s mainly her tail and wings that are making me question if it’s a gender Mixup or if maybe she’s hurt/molting. Thank you!
I am looking for a duck to be friends with the duck I already have. I can’t travel very far and don’t want to order ducks through the mail. If anyone has a duck they can spare I would really love to buy one. I’m near the fingerlakes area. Thank you. Sorry if this isn’t the right place, I just...
I have a mallard who was VERY loud as a baby and I was told was likely a female. I had no doubts until today. The duck has no curled tail feather, has a brown/orange beak and feet, and brown feathers with white on the wings. Today it was playing under the heat lamp and there is a slight green...
Hi all, I am getting a vitamin supplement for our chickens as one is starting to curl it’s toes and I’m going to try that out. It goes in the water and I don’t want to cause an issue for the ducklet. Thank you! Sorry if this is a silly question.:D
I am located in upstate NY. I’m not sure if mine is a male or female, but I’m leaning towards female. She was stuck in a drainage ditch by our house and we fished her out, and mom was nowhere to be found.
