@ Goosedragon goose sailing LOL That is too cool.
@ Tennessee Truly My Embden did that too last year. There was ice and sleet and he was happily in his pool honking to himself. Hey please keep me in mind when you have some babies. I am wanting a pair of Sebbie babies and thinking of correlating...
Usually if we have a freeze warning, high heat indexes, or the possibility of thunderstorms or tornadoes we put the geese in our bathtub. This also serves as the infirmary when someone is sick. I was wondering am I the only crazy one doing this.
Thank you everyone!!! I was not sure if he had to be burned because of the Cocci or if burying was ok.
Yes I think the mourning of Zerelda had a lot to do with the fact he could not shake a disease that usually kills young birds. I am quite sure that the other geese witnessed Zerelda's tragic...
I am sure he grieved a lot about Zerelda. I think also his illness had played a part too. The pink to red I believe was renal. I think the damage was done even though the high level of ACV cleaned him out really good. There are a lot of trees and yard birds. Someone that is about a hundred yards...
Well last night he seemed to be a little weak so we brought him back inside and gave him the same stuff last time. About 3 hours ago my husband found him laying on his back but alive and having a hard time breathing. I filled up the bath again and let him swim for a bit. He did not do so good...
Feet does look a little pale but it could be having a bathtub pond and two days out the mud. His beak though is looking alright. We have lots of trees of course with birds and everything and so much rain lately with colder weather. He has been through the stress of loosing his mate also so his...
Last post on this! Jesse is well and good this morning so I put him out with the two young ones. He was honking in the bathroom and the babies (they are 6 months old) kept honking back. His stool was normal but still passing pink fluid which leads me to believe it might be renal. That leads me...
We don't have much of a real feed store around here. Just a few folks raise some chicken and all. I did want to update everyone. Jesse is still in the infirmary (bathtub). I thought while cleaning his area out and all that a bath might do him some real good, at least the water could keep him off...
I think he might be getting better, but then again I never had one sick before. He is in the bathtub. I figure it has plenty enough area he can scoot around and easier to clean. He still has clear pink tinge BM with brown about. He is starting back to honking though not good on his feet at all...
