    do skunks hurt chickens?

    And they will climb chicken wire. My mother in law has an 8ft ft chicken run with no roof( much to my dislike and repeated disapproval) and went out one morning to find a skunk in with her chickens killing 3 large hens.... There was no other way in except to climb the run. Sneaking little devils!

    I hate raccoons! They have moved in full time determined to have chicken and duck snacks!

    I am reworking the duck house yet again so its totally bomb proof. Poor duckies! And then I think I am going to move the goats to the chicken'/duck yard to help deter the raccoons as well. I will probably borrow my mothers hav a heart trap and give it a try. Anyhow off to get to work on some...

    So it all started about a week ago when I went to let the chickens out for the morning and they were already out. I double checked the latch! All were accounted for except one Coconut buff cochin, ****....So reinforcements went onto the door, added latches added measures of protection although...

    That's what I thought...bummer. I didn't realize the boys look so much like barred rocks, but now I know:) I don't remember there being a spot on its head as a baby, but I will have to go back and look at some pics. Now I know for next time right?

    Not happy at all that this isn't what is was supposed to be! We purchased these at the feed store on may 9th. I really didn't want another roo so we went with pullets, and sex linked even....so I am 100% sure this isn't a pullet black star but what is it? I kept thinking maybe black stars got...
