Aloha from Hawaii-
We have had one Roo and one hen after losing our second hen to a neighborhood dog about 6 months ago.
They are aprox 1 year old.
Since losing one hen, the Roo and remaining hen started wanting to sleep outdoors on top of the coop.
They then started sleeping on the neighbors...
I had the same issue as you but kept my rooster and he’s great.
When he comes at me once in a while, it’s mostly for show. I just pick him up and rub him and talk to him and carry him around as much as possible.
He’s totally fine after that.
He’s never hurt me or my kids.
We love having him...
Guess who’s started crowing this morning? You were all correct. I’m sure I will have a lot more questions in the future.
Thank you for your help!
Aloha
ugh, can I keep him in the coop with two hens he’s been raised with? I’m allowed to have roosters because our entire island is full of wild jungle fowl.
Will he hurt the hens? Now all the eggs will be fertilized! I wanted a peaceful life of egg laying hens. Do I need to make him a bachelor pad...

Aloha from Hawaii!
I’m new to all of this and have been raising 3 chicks that were supposed to be female.
They are doing great but I’m concerned that one might be a cockerel.
They are all approx. 16-18 weeks old and this one is much bigger than the others.
She/he is also the boss of the other...
