What did you do in the garden today?

Yesterday I planted more seeds, I’m not sure how many of my starts are going to take off. I didn’t harden the first set off (I was frazzled with completion of our coop. Thankfully I seeded for a lot of them prior, then put in starts and then reseeded for them again. Today I brought out my...

    Chicken coop plans

Today I cleaned out the back area behind the coop which is going to be their pasture area. Hubby will cut a pop door in the back. I took 10 wheelbarrow full of rubber mulch that we had in the area we laid out the coop and I had to remove it quickly to build the coop and run, I just threw it in...

    Chicken coop plans

I did run an extension cord to that area anticipating the winter. I have a radiant brooder and that can go on the wall and if we have super cold snaps but we’ve been having less and less of those here. Also, for a water warmer to keep it from freezing. I watched all the girls on the roost last...

    Chicken coop plans

I feel dumb because I finally figured out that I can fill it daily during the warmer months very easily and I don’t need to lug it back and forth super full 😂😩🙈

    Chicken coop plans

Tuesday will be a week they’ve been outside and everything is going well. They’re a lot of fun. just a few notes: They’re using the roost, looks like the front one of the 3 I put in. I’m assuming as they get bigger they may need to spread to the back two as well. I’m pretty sure they’re all...

    Look at my babies!

I love that movie. And thank you! We worked really hard on the coop. Needs the be finished on the exterior (siding) and a pop door to the free range area for them out back. I still have some clean up back there, though. She’s really beautiful. She tends to be a little elusive and shy...

    For people who scoop daily…

I have peat moss in my shed. I could definitely try that! I didn’t know there was any controversy over it, though. I use it in my gardens and planters

    For people who scoop daily…

if you scoop your run/coop daily, what do you use for bedding? What is your favorite thing to use and why? Right now the run is dirt and I like that, I am scooping it 2x daily and composting what I scoop. In the morning I scoop and scrape inside the coop (the door threshold, roosts, and poop...

What did you do in the garden today?

What kind of clematis? I have sweet summer, autumn, and double flowered varieties. I love them. I’ve never saved nasturtium seeds but did buy and start some from seed this year.
