Do you have a temporary nest box you can attach to a dog crate like this?
I set these up when I have not enough brooders under the poop boards. I wait til she comes off the nest for her daily, and either move the nest box or move the eggs. When she comes back I direct her where I want her to...
Quality control showed up and noticed the scratch bucket was a little heavy. I don't think the lid would've snapped on without their help...
And yep, blurry pics are back. That's a welcome change.
Congrats...that's awesome. They're very pretty. Keep track of those eggs if you can, they may get darker still depending on how many layed.
My fancy BCM's... That's a hoot !! 🤣
I started with hatchery also, my friend.
Great pics....

He has a few Marans and they're notorious for going broody. All 9 of his Marans girls went broody last year and I believe he's up to...
I don't have the heat you southerners do but a couple things I do that may help. Fans.... Alot of fans. Especially facing the hot nest boxes. I put box fans in the windows at night and if any windows are in direct sun that fan is in during the day I turn it to exhaust out. Another fan intake on...
They should feather out like these....
The main purpose of these 2 experimental hatches is adding Solo's Type, low tail and much smaller combs. The slight sacrifice in copper I can breed back in.
W/W hatched 5 yesterday. Just got her moved over to her brooder and took some pics. These are 5 more Kong x Solo. Males will be dirty dish water gold/silver leakage. Females are basically pure BCMs with a possible slight sacrifice in copper.
She's gorgeous....♥️ I have comb issues also in my flock, but it's a real easy fix.
What are the 3 under her? Looks like you gotta thorn in between 2 roses ...🤣
I'm adding... if this is a BCM that has the black eyes, yes that a DQ. Brown eyes are not. They're not desirable but accepted. I haven't kept any brown eyes personally but there were other issues combined with the eye color that helped make that decision.
