Where are the hooks?

Hookbills are not born with a hooked bill, but instead a regular duckling bill that will start to develop the signature hooked shape as they mature. Usually by 2-3 weeks of age you can start to see it beginning to change, but these two were only a day old in this picture. I will keep this post updated with pictures of these two as their bills start to develop so everyone can see the changes their bill goes through

Cool! You learn something new everyday!

I went back and looked at the calendar they are just about a week old and you can see the downward curve starting in the bill already.
