The chicks are 4 weeks old, and flying everywhere - they are able to fly over their pen wall into the main part of the summer house. And of course back in again. Which is good for keeping their feed separate.
Only issue is I also have the Bantam babies in their pen - currently...
There is no photo attached - hmmm sounds like she had a high protein snack with the egg 😊
As long as she had the wormer she will have her parasite load reduced - make sure to repeat in 2 weeks.
💕💕💕💕
Yes it would be extremely risky. Now if it were Henny Penny I would have no worries.
But anyways she was off the nest this morning. Those chicks are out and about doing their thing so they can stay put where they are.
Tonight I found whiskers sitting on eggs - if she is broody I might give her a couple days to see if she stays and then maybe slip them under her and see if she will take them on. Risky….
That are also very smart birds and extremely social.
That’s probably the best thing, they have the experience, and likely a Vet on call if they need one.
I am leaning towards the BB (Black Breasted) Red OEB, the Crele pattern chicks have white spots on their heads. The Silver Duckwings have a silvery colour and white strips from head to tail.
They fit in your hand when they are older, that's how tiny they will be, they will be even smaller...
She is what I would call the Regional Manager - she makes sure she get first dibs on what she wants then let’s the middle managers do the actual work 😆
Just checking them out on Hoovers - looks like maybe the Silver Duckwing - they do not look like the Seabright chicks photo.
They sure are cute little monkeys.
