Females will flare too if they're bickering or sparring. Those two are almost certainly male's though, especially Red Comb

When to cull a rooster showing signs of aggression?

No. You need to be able to handle your hens whenever you please, even in front of the rooster. A smart rooster learns very quickly that a person picking up a hen isn't a threat like a predator snatching a hen. There is no reason to keep a rooster that is going after people when there are many...

When to cull a rooster showing signs of aggression?

I wouldn't keep either personally. My friendly roosters keep their hens safe just as much as people seem to think aggressive ones would. Even if they do leap into action to protect hens, the best they'll do in most cases is just sacrifice themselves as the bird that gets taken that time

Mine hold them for the 48 hours, probably so they can get the credit for them without people seeing losses

Pretty much. You'll take thinner straps from the batt (laid flat, not rolled like it is now) and you use a spinning wheel or a drop spindle to add twist and thin the strip out even more until you get the size you want. Then you put 2/3/4 of those single strands and wrap them together to make...

Just white. That way we could see the peacock feathering in it after spinning. This one's a test spinning batt to see if it even spins okay

They're not a hatchery, and again, not everything employee will know everything. The amount of times I have been asked a question I didn't have an answer for, or was put on a task that I was not familiar with is more than I can count on fingers

What in the world is this?

Most birds with only one Crest gene also look like that. I had several last year from a crested and non-related parent that matched the size and shape

Absolutely this. I have been doing retail pretty much the entire time I've been working and while not everyone was rude/awful to deal with, every customer was an opportunity to be scolded/berated. I loved my jobs that were in retail, but the threat of customers treating me the way they did was...

It's through Google docs, so it saves automatically, and it had been saved before. It took me back to stuff I'd written over a month ago, and I have to reopen it every time I leave that tab

    LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Yeah, I ended up reloading the version from the night before, so I only had to rewrite a few paragraphs in the end thankfully. I have no clue what happened. Normally I'd think I accidentally cut the pages while I was half asleep, but it's too hard to even cut a full page when I want to, I can't...
