I planted pole beans on one of my cattle panels - twice. Insect pests took them, both times. I gave up. But I do have yellow-wax, bush beans planted in one of my greenstalks, that are close to producing. The one with the red dot is the bean tower
We have vultures and hawk in our area. And on rare occasion, we see an eagle. We are in the burbs, but there are lakes all around us.
See the eagle in my avatar. For a couple days in a row, back in 2017, it used my tree to rest in. We have a cottonwood, and it's the tallest tree for miles.

This is a mesh cover made for trees and bushes - but works for the GreenStalk.com vertical garden system

One with strawberries (I over-watered and lost several plants - but am rooting a couple runners, so will eventually replace them), one with yellow wax beans, one with pickling cucumbers, one with salad greens, one with onions, one with carrots and one with a mixture of baby carrots, kale, celery.
You know - I should have known better! This is my 2nd year growing cabbage (in a raised garden), and they were covered, the day I put them in. The kale are in my greenstalk, up on my deck (I have 7 of them, now!) I know Kale is a brassica! I should've covered them on day one.

Today I will:
See a new optometrist
Have a blood draw
Tie up loose ends on a new insurance policy
Drinking black coffee with stevia, and missing out on breakfast. Not that I couldn't stand to miss out on breakfast 😕
...off my kale, then covered with netting. I need to check, this morning - to make sure there are none I missed. The small plants may die - but at this point, I'm viewing it as a learning experience. Never grew Kale before and want to see if I can defeat the little b******s and revive the plants
Music is the variety I grew, per your suggestion last fall. The leaves are so tall and robust! Of course, we had a very mild winter. I had green sage, all winter long. And the parsley in my greenstalk was what I planted last year!
I will:
Harvest garlic scapes and bolted onions
Make banana bread from very ripe bananas (it will become biscotti)
Weed-whack my yard
Wash sheets and hang them on the line - weather permitting
Got a new, riding mower. It's a cub cadet. It has an incredible turning radius! But it's so much...
