Hiya, Bones, and welcome to BYC! :frow
Sorry to say they are invasive here and we keep them and English Sparrows at bay, but I too have heard of some folks having them as pets.
We're glad you're here!

We've got various ages of silkies here, mostly roosters free ranging though, as well as two ducks. They've each got their own coop and know where their home is at night.
The farmer across the road has two flocks of chickens, each have a coop, and ducks that...
So technically today's the day then.
I never see mine rock and I've hatched over 500 this year so far. Mine are all silkies so must make a difference when they're smaller, but really no idea. I don't watch them for it though either so if they do, I might be missing it.
Hi, Helen, and welcome to BYC!
What day is this for them? I'm assuming Day 20 or 21?
I wouldn't open the incubator up if it's around their hatching time.

You're right though, each of these is a learning experience for sure! You'll be more successful the next time!
Hi, and welcome to BYC.
I'm sorry about what's going on there with these chicks.
I hatch hundreds and hundreds of chicks, and you're doing more than I am with the daily sterilizing.
When they're so young like this, it's usually not going to be a disease or illness, albeit coccidiosis when...

We'd love pictures if you have any!
Here's a link to our Learning Center full of articles about raising baby chicks and chickens. A few of those will make you a pro!
Agree 1000% with what @Wyorp Rock suggests.
When I used to let hens hatch, I had a couple of similar ones and put a thin coat of coconut oil on the membrane, put them in the incubator, jack the humidity up to 70%, and left them alone for 24 hours. One hatched by itself, the other I gave an...
