    Intro

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow Love your intro! If you post a picture of your coop and run, some of us can give you pointers. One thing for sure, though, 1/2" hardware cloth will keep out most predators, but chicken wire won't. We're glad you're here!

    New Here - Hi All!

Hiya, Elisabeth, and welcome to BYC! :frow Two roosters to six hens, even if they all get along, will make for some battered, overbred hens. You'll probably wind up needing to either keep one separated or part with one. You can try our Buy/Sell Forum or Facebook poultry groups for your state...

    Silkie question

Oh, did you get some from me or just happened to have those. I just recently got into breeding the partridge and she's my only partridge hen but makes beautiful chicks! I saved a couple of her chicks hoping for a male now. Edit: Nevermind, yes you did! I didn't recognize you by your new...

    Hi, I'm new here.

Hiya, Pam, and welcome to BYC! :frow One piece of advice is to buy a separate hygrometer/thermometer as the vast majority of incubators show incorrect readings. Many of us go with the Govee brand on Amazon. Ebay is also selling the Inkbird brand used once here. We bought them as they fit...

    Rehoming my flock in wisconsin

We only raise silkies, but the farmer across the road has Brahmas and Easter Eggers. I'll ask her. We're in Shawano County so it's a hike, but I used to live down there in Hartland, so might be fun to see the area again.

    Hello, fellow chicken enthusiasts! 😊

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow I'm glad you're getting a few more silkies. We're enablers here for chicken math, but seriously, most of us know that one silkie will not fair well in a flock of larger chickens. They'll stick together and be much better off! Great you're already building a...

    New Chicken Family w/questions

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow You could post them here: Animals in Need of Free Rehoming Be sure to put your state code in your title so folks in MD will see it. There's some posts by states started there but don't think there's one for Maryland so just make your own. Otherwise, my best...
