Broodies tend to retreat to VERY sheltered areas with their babies for the first few days to a week. They will bring the babies forth for food, water, and when they feel it's safe for the babies (includes having babies respond to mama's calls)

The dark eyes, white skin and black feathers make me think australorp, but the feathered feet, crest (tiny, so likely only 1/4 crested breed), beard and not straight comb . As such, speculating that 1 parent is australorp (or mix) and the other an EE x feather footed breed. The extra toe on one...

Yes. Rubber bucket, set of nipples (feed store had them), and a drill with the bit a little smaller than the nipples. Had to rotate the drill a bit to shove the nipples in, but no glue was used. 2.5 gallon bucket

Thirstyday They're getting big! Hetty is roosting with the bigs more often than not. The others....less frequently, but all are on the top of the nest boxes. Bigs keep presenting me with 2 days in 1 pics
