When do you guys decide to interfere with a chick hatching? I have one that pipped last night and hasn’t hatched yet. I know this is normal but it hasn’t been chirping or moving like all it’s siblings did. I’m afraid it’s week or something. I can see the beak moving but not doing anything.
I’m so confused what these are. Idk if these were “fathered” by my paint, recessive white, or splash rooster but I have these hens:
Black
Buff
Recessive White
Weird red pyle color
Splash
Paint
Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone had any chicks or full grown silkies from Copperfields Silkies? I'm going to be ordering from them Monday or Tuesday and wanted to see some more chicks from them! Thanks so much!
Oh no! I know the pain! I ordered 8 paint eggs from Northwoods Poultry and they thankfully sent me 2 free buff silkies and 2 free olive eggers because only 2 of the 8 paints are fertile and developing. My rates aren't near as awful as your's and I feel so bad for you!
Well, it's hard to know which eggs are from which hens. I know they are all laying because they're all in the nesting boxes but I'm not sure if maybe my splash started laying now and just thought she was earlier or not. She is the only one that could've been new.
That is interesting. I had my white rooster and blue rooster in there with these chicks. Which I had before with several of my previous hatches but none of them turned out like this. I've always gotten one or two silver partridge and then half and half blue and white. Now it's half partridge and...
Hey guys! Once again notifications stopped showing up so I have missed out on no telling how many posts. But I need some advice on what color you think this little baby is. I have hatched out silver partridge but they don't usually look this dark of a color.
Awe! How exciting! Well, I can't remember which set I left off on! LOL So far this year I have hatched 11 silkies and 9 survived and are already at their new homes. Then I have 15 in the incubators at the moment and 3 are on lockdown in one incubator and then the other 12 are on lockdown here in...
I missed ELEVEN pages of posts thanks to notifications not going off. On the bright side I've got 9 silkies hatching today and 6 have pipped! 1 of them has already started unzipping!
I honestly incubate whatever looks clean and normal. If it's small but has a normal shape and look I would incubate it but if there is any abnormalities I would discard it.
