Still didn't find him. What my main guess is is that he wandered outside and a magpie snagged him. They've snagged broody raised chicks before, so I wouldn't put it past them to grab a lone duckling that got lost. They do okay when the lamp gets unplugged over night, so I'll keep hoping that he...

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Chocolate runner little little disappeared out of the pen last night when i was putting birds away. No clue what happened, still keeping an eye out for him, but I didn't find any sign of him last night

Little Littles are doing great. Littles are as well

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

I don't think so. That was my first guess, but it was only the one duckling out of over a dozen, and she's mostly feathered. It also was decently warm water and airwise in their pen.

Have to keep an eye on one of the pastel calls. I think they might have had a seizure yesterday while in their water bowl. She started going under while spinning over and couldn't stand up or keep her balance for a few minutes after I scooped her up. She's acting fine now, but it definitely...

The three Little Littles are doing good. They have a chicken that has taken an auntie role and I think she punted them out of their little pen last night 😂

Okay. The black probably isn't split, but I guess you never really know with hatchery colors

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Honestly I might be tempted to keep both males and all 5 females. Would I be risking the hens with that ratio if they all kinda grow together? The black female is definitely staying as long as I don't lose her, and I just want the most colors I can get from the runner pen

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Okay, so if I kept the chocolate male with both black amd fawn&white females, I would get only black males and then fawn or chocolates of both sexes?

@Pyxis What would I get with these pairings? Chocolate male x black female Chocolate male x fawn and white female Black male x fawn and white female My replacements came in and I got more colors than what I had for the first batch

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Got a lot planted. Mostly annuals, but some over grown tomatoes and some melons and cucumber/gherkins. And the 6 packs that Brother picked out (a lettuce/cabbage and a cauliflower, so that will be interesting to say the least). Need more totes though, I have 1 left and need at least another 4 or 5

Looks like it was Doula. The remaining blue isn't nearly as blocky as she was, so I'm really thinking it was something internal now. I'd been concerned she might have been laying internally, just because of how large her pouch was.

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Yeah, I'm still pretty bummed about it. I have no idea what could have happened, honestly. There was a cinder block in there so that the chickens can get out if they fall in, and I couldn't find any signs that my male had bred and drowned her, it wasn't chilly, so she shouldn't have gotten too...

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Lost a Swedish yesterday. I'm not sure how,she got in the trough (it's too high for them to do much more than reach up to shrink over the wall) or what happened afterwards (not a single mark on her). I have to watch them come out today to see who exactly it was, but I think it was the nice...
