I used blood stop powder to slow the bleeding. Couldn't keep a band aid on because I was leaking blood. Used duct tape to keep the bandage on. Not that bad of a cut really. -

40 + years ago a skunk would come at night to steal any dog food not eaten. Drove the dog crazy and sometimes sprayed to back the dog off. Windows open and skunk had to be dispatched so I could get a good nights sleep. -

Not as hot today. Mowed and got the 2 cattle panels up for the cucumbers. Chance of rain after 5 pm. I am waiting for the clouds to do more outside. I think the rain will miss me. -

Too hot and humid today. I dragged the cattle panel to the garden. I cut my finger the other day and I take a blood thinner. I bled really bad and DW wanted me to go to the ER. I said it looks worse than it is. Short times outside is all I can take today. Tomorrow should be better. -

It was not as humid yesterday. Cooling trend for a couple of days 80s. I need to get the cattle panels up for the cucumbers to climb on. Winter squash is blooming but only 1 female so far. Pole beans are starting to climb. -

I had to laugh when eggs got pricey and everyone wanted chickens for cheap eggs. I said cheapest eggs are in the store. -

Yesterday afternoon storms gave almost no rain. Winter squash bloomed 2 male 1 female flower. Nice to get both flowers at the same time. Another persimmon graft started growing after nearly 6 weeks. I was ready to give up. -

Saw some pea sized tomatoes and winter squash blossoms on one plant. Male and female flowers. I hope they open on the same day. Coons are hitting the mulberry trees. Mulberries take the pressure off of berries and cherries. So many birds and animals eat mulberries. -

Thunderstorm yesterday evening gave about 1/2 inch of rain. Everything wet and humid. Temp dropped from 92 to 74 degrees with the storm. -

Picked 2 quarts of raspberries and watered some plants. Some were wilting. I am wilting also in this heat. Even the dog doesn't want to stay out very long. -

More hollyhocks. I saw a bird fly away when I opened the door. Reached up into the nest and 3 eggs. The Phobe are reusing the nest. Should lay a fourth and start incubating. I think I am done outside for the day. My mind says go out late, but my body will say no. Too humid early and them too hot later. I fertilized some things with fish fertilizer. Planted my okra starts. Squash vines are starting to run. No sign of squash pests yet. -

Yes, the corn belt is humid. As the corn grows so does the humidity. The heat really leaves me tired at the end of the day. -

Well, they do what they say. Wick away sweat for evaporative cooling. I think they are worth the money. My regular clothes just get soggy in this heat. -

Picked more raspberries about 5 quarts. Heat advisory. I got my Artic Cool T-shirt on today. Pic of my purple raspberry bush and my Adara plum graft has about 5 feet of growth. -

The sky cleared this afternoon. Went out late picking raspberries. A bee stung my ear And I kept picking until another bee tried to sting me. I left but was not finished picking. Maybe tomorrow. -

Cloudy and light rain. 95 tomorrow and 90s through Thursday. Pulled more weeds before rain started. -

Rain stopped early this morning. About 1 inch. Too wet to mow or garden for a while. Raspberry pie is done. Mowed some after it dried. Need to weed after the rain. Easier to pull. -
