This is my little closet pantry where I keep excess food. It was jam-packed full yesterday. Every shelf... And while I started with an organizational process, I'd abandoned it long ago and started shoving things wherever I could find space.
So last night, I dragged it all out and organized it...
Whats the main ingredient? It's fuzzy but it looks like it says iron phosphate? Can you put this on lettuce or other veggies and then eat it the next day?
I have a vanilla orchid that has hardly grown at all in the 2 yrs I've had it. I moved it outside to the steamy greenhouse which is more suitable climate for that type of plant. However now it's starting to yellow... I think it's in too shallow a pot for the wetter conditions out there.
So I...
I wish I had a basement... You have no idea! 😁 I've ever looked into building a root cellar but it simply isn't possible on this property. We are on a ridge but bedrock is only 2-3 feet AT BEST below grade. And we don't slope enough to build up anywhere... Not to mention we have old growth...
Great idea about the supplies, soaps, etc...
We have a little breakfast nook area that has a farm table in it. We don't eat there and it acts as a catch-all for stuff as we come in from outside. I went looking for some cabinets that would fit underneath as a space idea but didn't find much...
I need to rethink my storage system. Currently I have a 4 tier shelving unit in a closet to store excess food. It's jam packed full with stuff I've collected on sale, stuff I've canned from the garden, etc... And now my FD items. I started out with an organizational system that no longer works...
He quieted down after dark and we had no issues. It's storming now so I'll have to wait...
I'm going to let them get acquainted through the fence over the next few days. Then I'm thinking about bringing them all into the bigger pasture and seeing how they do together. He'll have a lot more...
He's only the 2nd goat I've ever introduced. My first goat - Annie...is the nursing doe. When I bought her, I only had the buck and his sister (who is sterile). They both accepted her pretty easily... And they accepted her babies very easily both times she has given birth.
I feel pretty good...
Looking for some advice...
In my herd, I have 1 ND buck who has a pen all to himself which is right next to the girl pen...
In the girl pen, I have:
1 ND Matriarch (likely the sister of my buck). No idea on her age but I'm guessing 5-6 yrs old. She is the alpha in the pen.
One 2-yr old ND...
Busy day...
Needed to restock my yearly hay supply. Wanted to pick it up last weekend but it was supposed to rain so I didn't. Ended up not raining... 😑 Decided to go this weekend since it wasn't supposed to rain. It was a torrential downpour on the way back.
I hate the weatherman. 🤬
Did...
Just blanched some cauliflower and broccoli to put in the FD. They were kinda big pieces so I had to really squish them down to get the trays in... Hoping that doesn't turn into an unexpected problem
I've got a load of sweet peppers (red, orange, yellow) in right now...
I still have apples, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, asparagus, and eggs to do...
I've got an easy 4 days of FD bliss ahead of me still... 😂
I don't know... There are times I've literally had to hold myself back from yanking my molars our with pliers or stab my gums with a knife because the itch/ache is so bad.... 😂
When getting my wisdom teeth removed as a teen, the dentist punctured into my sinus cavity... Or maybe the roots of my wisdom teeth were growing into my sinus cavity. Can't remember exactly... But either way, whenever I get a cold or allergies or anything that causes pressure and excess mucus in...
I woke up this morning with my molars itching... Weird symptom, I know... 😂 But it's ALWAYS a precursor to a bad allergy day. I started loading up on meds for the day before doing anything else.
