I treated a star gazer a couple years ago. It's just a vitamin deficiency.
I believe I mixed minced garlic, raw honey, and apple cider vinegar.
That healed up the chick in 2 days I believe?
There's homeopathic/natural ways to treat it, that actually work really well.
No, just leave the chick with the mother. :) She'll take real good care of that baby.
When you have a broody hen, I've observed that the other birds leave the hens alone for the most part.
For me, the only time the hens have actually harmed the chicks, was when they knew the chicks wouldn't...
Do you have a thread with all your live stock in it?
Kind of like what I do with my old English? If you don't, you should totally start one. I'd follow it.
Right?? That would be awesome. I'd love to! I want to go fishing there anyway. LOL
Really, that's awesome. I've heard that mix makes the milk taste way better.
Is it more creamy, sweet, thick, etc?
So far, the garden is going mostly good.
I have very invasive Perslane that is trying to choke out my other plants. (Carrots, beet's, peas, etc)
It's been pretty dry here, but I planted pretty dense on my brassicas, so they are actually doing quite well. The cabbage is starting to make baby...
I love you quail's coloring! It's so unique.
I used to have a flock of quail, but they all got wiped out in one night by a raccoon.
Hoping to get back into them someday.
I'll be sure to follow along in this thread. :)
I really hate to say this, but yesterday got so hot it killed my brand new, white OEGB pair. The high got to 100 F, last week it was in the 60's - 70's.
It's so terrible, I feel so bad; like I could've done better for them....
I did get three eggs off of them, so I'm praying I can get at least...
