    Issues with neighbors dogs

Your argument makes less sense. Never said I'm not responsible to keep my chickens safe on my property. I'm not responsible for someone's dogs safety on my property. If I eliminate the dog or predator, am I not keeping my livestock safe?

    Are Opossums Misunderstood?

Another " if it's on the Internet" it's true. Opossum do not eat ticks. That statement has been proven false.

    Issues with neighbors dogs

I've given dogs back to their owners not breathing. Gotten called all sorts of names, and gotten death threats. Was never worried though. Decided SSS was so much easier. Fido just went missing, and is probably wagging his tail with a new family. Livestock isn't cheap. Food, medicine...

    Question about farm guns?

While the.22LR and 5.56 have the same diameter, that's the only similarity. The 5. 56 has about 3x's the velocity of the.22lr. more recoil, and much louder report. A .22 rifle will be the least expensive to purchase, and to shoot compared to the 20g. Again, .22lr has much less recoil and...

    Snow tracks

They look roundish, but it's difficult to tell. Could be anything from a house cat to a coyote and anything in-between.

I need temporary/maybe not temporary fencing ideas to hide my chickens

What is going to happen is your going to be forced to get rid of the extra birds. No matter how you try and hide them, it's going to happen. Get rid of them before you move, it's going to be easier and less dramatic on you and the birds.

    Bear!!!

Most bears are smelling the chicken food and looking to add a little fat before hibernation. I've got a couple that are regularly around in the early spring and then again mid/late fall. They disappear during the warmer months as natural food is plentiful at that time. They sure can ruin a...

    Devastated after dog attack

X2. 20 minutes chasing and yelling for help? That dog wouldn't have lasted 2 minutes. Thats about how long it would have taken me to get to a rifle. New neighbor would have gotten his dog back feet first.

    Question about farm guns?

Lots of replies.. As someone who has multiple pistols and rifles and shotguns, I'll add there is not one that does everything perfectly. That's why they were invented, to do different jobs effectively. Pistol is a short range weapon. It's not like the movies where the good guy takes out a AR...

Are fresh grass clippings ok to add as mulch on chicken run?

I haven't had that issue. My gals free range in a 1.5 acre area with my 3 dogs. I'll usually dump a bushel or two over the fence for them to scratch through.
