Chick laying on back and side, letting other walk on her.

I have a chick that is about a week old. My husband often says he thinks she's dead. But as soon as I touch her she acts okay. She's eating a drinking. She is sleeping on her side with legs sprawled out, or on her back. Even in my hand, she sleeps like this. I've never had a chick do this...

Sick or Wounded? =( Help please. (video attached)

This is Pip, my very first chicken. She's a banty phoenix and about 7-8 months old. A few weeks ago she stopped laying and has been very quiet. Now she wobbles when she walks. She doesn't act like she is in serious pain so I am wondering if she's sick rather than wounded? She just lays down...

This came with a batch of frizzles, naked necks, and cochins I got over a month ago. She has some frizzles feathers on her wins but other places just does not have feathers. Her crop is not feathered and all of the way from the base of her neck up is not feathered. Keep in mind she is also at...

Cochin? Female? And what's with it's head??

This is from a batch of chicks that was given. I believe it is a Cochin but it is still very small. It had fuzzy feet if that helps. I was also wondering is anyone has ever seen this on a baby chicks head? S/he is SO sweet and the spot on it's head doesn't hurt it at all. I've rubbed it a...

    Have you 'canned' chicken?

My husband and I have heard about canning chicken breasts. Not sure why you couldn't do it with any chicken meat. But just wondering if any of you have done this and if you would share how you do it. Pressure, time, etc... I'd really appreciate it!

My chickens are eating my turkey's feathers!

Posted under turkey's too but thought maybe it would be better here... Our RIR chickens have begun to pull off and eat our turkey's feathers. We planned to butcher turkey but now my mother in law is attached and won't have it, so he's staying unless I can prove to her that he's better off so...

    Chickens and Bodies of Water?

My husband and I live along a river. Our chickens have plenty of room but we'd love to let them free range at times. However, I'm worried that with the river in our backyard that they may get into it or jump into it and float away. What do you guys think? Will they know to avoid it?

    How many nesting boxes?

Just curious how many a person needs. My father in law said if they have a favorite they will wait in line for it. But I want to make sure I have an adequate amount for them.

What breed and gender is this one?

We got this little one at a local feed store. There were only 4 left, and we purchased two. However we had to end ones life because it was pecked bloody and given a broken leg and we couldn't help it.... It was sold to us as a Domonique but apparently is not.

They are still in the brooder right now but when it was warm a few days ago we let them run around inside the coop with our 6 week old RIR's, 2 bantams, and turkey. They pick on them and won't let them near...
