So my lovely female emu gave me 4 eggs and I decided to hatch them! I read someplace that if the male and female aren't breeding that means no eggs (?)... so I took them and though I would try my luck! This will be the longest hatch of my life. LOL.
I also threw some chicken eggs in for an...
So I finally got my pair of emus. Apparently the male was a pet at some time from what I was told when he was dropped off. He also has a band on his leg.
Anywho...
Recently when I go into the pen, he will walk straight towards me, tuck his chin to his chest and just keep walking to me... As a...
There are a million bees all over the chicken scratch!!! Does this happen to you? What should I do to prevent it??? Even the grain feeders don't work, the bees still get in there!
Hey guys! I just bought an older model Dickey cabinet incubator and hatcher. It's the wooden model, but i got a heck of a deal on them... I hope. They dont have the digital thermostat on the door, but instead they have one of those turkey thermometer looking things plugged into the side. HAHA...

It all started with my animals getting picked off one by one, and then my mom had gotten me a dog that started to get out all the time, and attacked my birds. Even my pregnant guinea pig. I ended up with TOO MUCH STRESS, and left to my moms for a month. I had my brother pick up all...

I have over 17 hatching next week.... mother goose is determined!!! I was wondering how much goslings go for. Mommas are buff saddleback pomeranians. Daddy is a gray saddleback/roman tufted. Here are their pictures....
How much should i sell goslings for? I already hatched one out, and it is...
I have a question, the other day i was out taking pictures of my Magpies, and when I looked closely at the pictures there was some green on their orange bills. I was wondering what it was, so I went back down to their pen, and held one and looked at its beak closely. It looks like there is green...
Happy Saint Patricks Day!!!
Who thinks that by setting the eggs today, there will be some amount of luck??? I wonder if I draw 4 leaf clovers on my eggs when i set them, if they'll be lucky... hmmmm.
What are you setting today? I'm setting 5 Emu eggs!!!!!
Well, I got talked into hatching emu's to keep. I didn't take much convincing, they are big beautiful birds!
I will set the 5 eggs tomorrow after my incubator is sure and stable.
According to many websites, my incubator needs to be set at 96-97 degrees, and have a humidity of 30%-35%, then...
I have way too many goose eggs right now, and don't have room left in my incubator for them! I have 6 in my incubator right now, and only 1 wasnt developing (but that one could have been her first egg). They give me 2 eggs a day.
So, as far as i can see I have great fertility on these guys...

My female tufted saddleback is missing. UGH! I have a group of 4, and they all usually stick together. It has been gloomy today, and has been raining the last 2 hours. I went looking for her when I noticed only 3 were walking around. My husband said they were flying from one side of the yard to...
I bought some Muscovies about 2 weeks ago. 2 of them are DYING to get out. They were used to being free ranged... My geese are free ranged... and they always put themselves to bed at night.
I'm worried the Muscovies will take off! Will they?

I tried to refresh, i tried to logout and then back in. I tried reading the post, clicking profile, then show all posts, and the yellow chick is still there.
Please tell me if this is correct or not...
the yellow baby chick next to a thread = new posts (right?)
When I go to show all posts, that little baby chick is next to some threads. So i assume a new post has been written... when I get there, there isn't a new one...
And I wrong about that...
