my indian runner seems to have gone broody. collecting eggs and sitting on them. i dont have a male but was wondering if i could slip some chicken eggs under her. has anyone ever tried this?
so i took about 8 eggs and scrambled them, put them in a container and froze them( no milk, just the eggs). i'll take them out in about 2 weeks and see how they taste. im doing it so in the winter if my girls stop laying for a while ill still have my own eggs. anyone ever try this?

just ordered 17 chicks. 2 ee's. 10 buff orpingtons, and 5 black astrolopes. havent added anything to the flock in about 2 years. should be here by thursday. cant wait.
just brought home 3 ducks to join my flock of chickens. 1 indian runner and 2 blue swedes. keeping everyone separate for a while then ill let them mingle if that's what they want to do.
going to be moving and enlarging my coop next weekend. ive prefabbed most sections, so it should be 95% done in one day. my hens are laying fools. lol. do you think this will put them off at all? bad part is they lay mostly from mid morn till mid afternoon without to much variation.
8 hens born on aug 18th. 8 days ago our RIR layed her 1st and has laid one everyday since. today one of our wyandottes laid her 1st one. very small and elongated. but its a start.
moved my 6 week old chicks into the coop for the 1st time (these are my 1st chickens). all locked up.
checked on them twice already. lol. cant wait for morning to let them out. will they go into the coop by themselves
now, or will I have to put them in myself a couple of times?
