Here it goes!
I had a clutch of BCMs hatch on August 24th 2015. My first BCMs, the eggs were mail ordered.
I kept one pullet and one rooster.
The pullet/hen started laying 2 months ago and all the eggs I checked are fertile!
(The Rooster is doing one heck of a job with my flock!)
Her eggs are...
My 3 BCM chicks were hatched on August 24th.
They are so much fun!!!
Can't walk into the yard without them flying onto my shoulder
I had 5, but sadly lost 2 to my neighbors cat.
Hard to take a good picture of them, but I think I have 2 roos and 1 pullet!
Two have nice red combs/waddles...
Mom and Dad had one Baby!
I can not take a decent picture of it, because it is skittish and lightning fast!
Mom is done taking care of it and I was wondering if anybody had a good guess if I have another mini egg producer or
competition for Dad?
I just can not tell.....
Baby (Tiny)
Dad...
I am a bit in a panic!
Sold as RED CROSS PULLETS at TSS.
They are about 3 months old and tower over my Cinnamon Queens and are almost twice the size of my Barnyard EE Mixes.
I was told there is a good chance they are Meat birds.
That would break my heart!
I have a few pics. Hope someone can...
I am so confused!
I have been getting different information everywhere I turn :(
Here is my dilemma...
I got 2 Plymouth Barred Rock chicks at TSS. Turns out they are Bantams! No where did it say that they are!
My top hens in my little Backyard Flock will take those little cuties apart.
I can...
I happened to stop by TSS when they got a new delivery of chicks in.
I grabbed 3 Barred Rocks and then they opened another box with what was marked Red CRS.
Only 3 out of 100 had black markings. I grabbed them because I was curious.
They did not look like any other chick in the shipping box...
I had 3 Red Brown Ameraucana eggs shipped when my Bantam got broody.
All 3 of them hatched January 1st.
They are 46 days old now. Getting too big for the crate in my basement, but Mom is still keeping them under her wings at night.
I would love to introduce them to the big girls outside, but...
I have 2 EE/Ameraucana Mix Roosters looking for a new home.
Hatch day was August 13th. Both hatched out of blue/green eggs.
Located Springfield/Western Massachusetts Area, close to the CT border.
I am willing to travel/meet/deliver, if it is not hours away.
We are at 52 days! All healthy and starting to get integrated with the big girls.
They free range together, but still sleep in a big crate inside the coop.
I am having a hard time figuring out their gender! This bunch is not making it easy for me!
I am 80% sure I got the sex of them right and...
24 days ago I hatched 8 beautiful chicks out of blue/green and peach colored eggs.
I was told by the seller they are Ameraucana and EE eggs.
The largest and the smallest egg were not fertilized and two chicks died in the shell.
I ended up hatching 3 chicks from the peach colored eggs (One...
I browsed ebay and stumbled across an auction for fertilized eggs.... It was an impulse buy!
5 days later I received 12 pretty blue and peach colored eggs.
I asked for half Ameraucana and half EEs.
My guess was: Peach=EEs and Blue=Ameraucana
I let them rest round side up for 24h. We had some...
They are now 15 weeks old and doing great!
Have no idea what they are!!!!
Out of the 6 chicks my daughter picked, 4 ended up being Roosters and 3 had to go
The last 3 Bantams are Big John, Amelia Egghart and LeeRoy.
I am 100% sure that Big John is a Rooster But no idea what kind!
Used to...
Today I got a wonderful package!
I ordered 5 Amaraucana and 5 EE eggs for hatching I got 6 of each!
This is my first time and I am terrified about making mistakes!
I had the incubator set up for a few days now and it is stable at 99F/100F and 46%-50% humidity.
I am storing the eggs at room...
I would love to add one or two EE, Araucana or Ameraucana Pullets to my flock!
Not looking for a show bird or anything fancy. Color does not matter!
Being healthy is all I ask for!
We can talk about pricing!
We are located in western Massachusetts.
The Guys and Gals are now 65 days old.
Out of my 6 Bantams I know for sure that 2 are Roosters.
They let me know all day long!
My Silkies are still a mystery....
Tony (left) and Poodle (right) are not even trying to crow like the other two Roos!
They are not giving up their secret!!!
Our...
This is our Greg!
(Formerly known as Grace)
60 days old, sweet, likes to sit on a lap for some treats or a nap.
Four days ago, he started crowing.
We love him dearly, but can't keep him.
With a heavy heart, he is free to a good home.
Greg is a pet! Not for soup or roasting!!!
It would break my...
Well... this guy is a Roo fosho! We named him Big John.
About 50 days old. Either OEG or a Golden Phoenix. I am new at this and still guessing :)
Now this one was named Grace. She showed no signs of Rooness till a few days ago.
Same age as Big John (about 50 days) and I am 99% sure she is a...
Our coop is some perches away from being finished!
It measures 4x6 ft. with two 14x14 in. nesting boxes.
The run is 10x6 ft., covered, and we plan to free range as long as we are at home. (Most of the day, I am a SAHM)
We have 6 Red Links, 2 Silkies and 4 Bantams. (Still indoors in brooders)...
One of my Silkies and one of my Mystery Bantams look a little Rooish!
At least that is my uneducated guess :)
I am thinking that the one on the left is a Gentleman!
Same with my brown Mystery Bantams!
The one on the right is my favorite, and looks pretty butch to me :(
I am pretty sad...
Is it just me... or do Bantams grow suuuuuper slow???
I had my little guys for almost 10 days, and they seem to be the same size as the day I bought them!
The two Silkies grow steadily, but my mystery chicks only got a few more wing feathers.....
Aaaanyway...
I have been searching Bantam chick...
